Learn Why Electrostatic Cleaning is Effective

electrostatic-cleaning

The term “electrostatic cleaning” refers to electrostatic disinfecting. While these terms are interchangeable, they refer to two very different infection control processes. Electrostatics provide no mechanical cleaning action; they do not remove physical soil. Rather, the electrostatic device is used to disinfect mechanically pre-cleaned surfaces.

Performing routine cleaning is a great first step in disinfecting, but it is almost impossible to disinfect every square inch of a surface in a facility this way. If you perform traditional disinfecting methods, it is expensive in terms of labor. Germs and bacteria spread into hard to reach areas faster than we can remove them. In fact, some forms of bacteria and viruses are hiding in many areas that we cannot access with current methodologies and equipment.

Electrostatic disinfection is a silver bullet for healthcare, schools, day cares, and many other industries. It provides a step that can now effectively augment the current processes that facilities use to protect the public from community-based pathogens. Harmful pathogens can live on surfaces for days and will potentially double every 20 minutes given the right environment and conditions – ample opportunity for cross contamination. Conventional cleaning and disinfecting do a fine job at managing common touch points in your building. However, electrostatic disinfecting provides a broad-spectrum approach to disinfecting a complete surface area or an entire room.
